Based in Göttingen, Germany, Sartorius, a leading international partner of life sciences research and the biopharmaceutical industry has announced continued investments in its Bangalore site to further expand manufacturing capacity and enhance its global supply chain capabilities.
Sharing this Dr Joachim Kreuzburg, Chairman- Executive Board of Sartorius AG and Chairman- Board of Directors of Sartorius Stedim Biotech S.A at the Bangalore site said “We have plans to nearly double our annual capacity for manufacturing and testing chromatography systems this year. The aim is to utilize the engineering capability to manufacture and test Resolute Flowdrive Chromatography systems for large-scale biopharmaceutical purification processes. These investments will further enhance our ability to provide cutting-edge solutions for biopharmaceutical manufacturing, ensuring the timely delivery of critical therapies to patients.”
He further said “We will invest in a new production line for pallet tanks used in single-use bioreactors by 2027 to meet local and global demand. Most sample development was completed in 2024. Around 50 pallet tanks for mixing were delivered to customers in India and around the globe last year.”
Sartorius India plays a vital role in the group’s global network, serving both local and international markets with high-quality products. Building on a legacy of growth and innovation in Bangalore since 1987, Sartorius has established the plant as a global competence center for stainless steel products, fermentation systems, and high-precision components now employing around 670 people.
The recent addition of a state-of-the-art application centre where customers can explore the company’s technologies firsthand further strengthen the site’s strategic importance. In addition to its manufacturing capabilities, Sartorius India is a global hub for IT and Digital Solutions, with a team of around 100 experts supporting software development and product development labs worldwide. Committed to environmental sustainability, the Bangalore site achieved 100% renewable power supply already in 2023 and is actively working towards water neutrality by 2026.
