Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI) launches Comprehensive Clinical Trials Portal

Singapore launches, a comprehensive centralised clinical trials portal "ClinicalTrials.SG" (CTSG) to enhance data accessibility to patients, caregivers, clinical investigators, and clinical trial sponsors.

Heng Swee Keat, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Research Foundation, launched the ClinicalTrials.SG (CTSG) on 30 July.

The CTSG portal is developed by the Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI) to make clinical trials more feasible in Singapore by meeting the diverse needs of the clinical research community. The initiative seeks to demystify clinical trials by providing easy to understand information around clinical research to enhance clinical trial excellence in the region.

Additionally, the portal offers information on available research grants in Singapore, training opportunities, and a directory of available clinical research resources such as Contract Research Organisations (CROs), Clinical Development and Manufacturing Organisations (CDMOs), laboratories, software platforms, and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities. This wide array of resources makes CTSG a comprehensive platform for all aspects of clinical research.

Key Features of ClinicalTrials.SG

Comprehensive Clinical Trials Resource: A centralised clinical trials portal emphasises the importance of clinical trials, outlines the processes involved in clinical trials and regulatory frameworks in place to safeguard patient safety and clinical trial efficiency.

Empowering the public to discover and participate in healthcare innovation: Recognising the pivotal role of "patients, caregivers, and healthy volunteers" in clinical research for medical advancement, by providing a comprehensive introduction to clinical research and provides information about ongoing trials in Singapore.

Accelerates collaboration opportunities among clinical research professionals: The centralised clinical trials portal serves as a hub for collaboration, connecting researchers with academic and industry partners to foster innovation and advance clinical research. It includes details on regulatory and ethics requirements for clinical trials.

Biorepository resource for clinical investigators and clinical trial sponsors: A consolidated database of local and overseas specimens and imaging data specifically for cardiovascular, oncology, and other scientific research studies. The rich data resource offers clinical researchers and trial sponsors a wealth of data for their studies in order to facilitate robust clinical research.

Easy-to-use search engine with search and filter capabilities: Users can search for clinical trials based on specific health conditions, making it easier to find relevant trials quickly and efficiently.
