The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) have teamed up by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The strategic partnership aims to establish an electronic link to streamline the licensing processes for health facilities in Sharjah, enhancing regulatory services by embracing best practices in digital transformation in line with government directives.

The MoU was inked by Dr Amin Hussein Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Health Regulation Sector, MoHAP, and Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD.

The MoU seeks to drive digital transformation across all transactions related to health facility licensing in Sharjah, aiming to improve the customer experience by accelerating and integrating government procedures. It also aims to enhance efficiency, quality, and flexibility, in line with 'We the UAE Vision 2031.'

"This MoU is part of a series of many initiatives by the Ministry aimed at establishing an electronic connection for all services related to licensing health facilities with local economic development departments. It facilitates the effective exchange of data and information between entities, speeding up the decision-making process and aiming to eliminate bureaucracy through a sophisticated strategic partnership", said Dr Al Amiri.

Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud highlighted that the MoU with the Ministry of Health and Prevention is set to foster cooperation and enhance collaborative efforts. “We also seek to implement the best practices and services to develop the business sector, upgrade national performance, improve institutional competitiveness, and achieve comprehensive sustainable development, in line with both federal and local government strategies”, he said.
